BTFD Auxiliary

bullet The Auxiliary was re-established in 2001 in response to the need for adequate and nutritious refreshments on a large scene such as a structure fire. Volunteers take turns being "on call" on a bi-monthly rotation and respond to Station 5 when the Incident Commander deems necessary. The volunteers on call for that particular month report to the station and proceed to prepare readily-stored items such as peanut butter sandwiches, granola bars, coffee, Gatorade, and water. Other volunteers will run to the grocery store to pick up fresh food such as bananas and bologna. They will then gather the items together and contact the Incident Commander to determine where and when is the best place to drop off the refreshments.

bullet Volunteers do not require any special skills or abilities; just the willingness to help in a time of need, whatever the hour!
