The Bloomington Township Department of Fire & Emergency Services provides
coverage to areas of Bloomington Township which are not annexed to the City of
Bloomington. By contract, the department also provides coverage, as the first
response agency for Washington
Township and Benton Township, all in Monroe County,
Indiana. |

The coverage area is approximately 140 square miles and has a population of
approximately 12,000 people. The area varies from industrial and suburban to rural
and forested areas. The area includes several lakes and ponds, as well
as several active quarry sites. |

The Bloomington Township Department of Fire & Emergency Services provides
service from 2 stations. Headquarters Station 5, at 5081 N. Old State Road 37,
and Station 15, at 2115 W Vernal Pike. |
